Obituary of Adelle Pitts

Adelle Richards Pitts (nee Kemery), 78, of Warwick, passed away peacefully and with dignity on March 10, 2015, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.

Born in Philadelphia, Adelle was the daughter of the late Jeane P. and William R. Kemery. She was preceded in death by her three brothers, William, George and David, and her sister Leah.

Adelle was a beloved angel on earth to everyone who had the good fortune to meet her, and she will be sadly missed. She was a loving mother, grandmother (Dee Dee), and wife, and she greatly valued all of her relationships - particularly when they involved genuine conversations over a cup of tea. A compassionate and enthusiastic giver, she always considered others' needs before her own, and the depth of her love and devotion was immeasurable.

Adelle was skilled in so many ways and took every opportunity to generously share her gifts with others. Among these gifts, she was a teacher, a financial advisor, and a confidant who always offered sage advice and heartfelt encouragement. She was also well known for her quick wit and her sharp sense of humor - qualities that she proudly attributed to the influence of her cherished father William. Above all, she possessed a rare ability to make anyone in her presence feel heard, understood, and appreciated. The world she created was truly a canvas of all things beautiful.

Adelle is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Steve Pitts; her devoted and grateful children, Stephen Pitts and Laura Jeane Smith; her son-in-law, Robert Smith; and her adoring granddaughter, Amanda Adelle, whom she treasured. She is also survived by her best friends and chosen sisters Phyllis Durr, Vickie Weitzenhofer and Rosemary Muhlig; her special nieces Susan Del Brady and Linda Lee Fortino; and countless other friends and family members whose lives she touched.

Interment was held privately for the immediate family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Kirk and Nice Suburban Chapel, 333 County Line Road, Feasterville, PA. The family will receive guests from 10:30 - 11:30 am and the service will immediately follow.
