August 26, 1933 – October 3, 2020
Albert Hafner, 87, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 3, 2020, with his loving family by his side. Born in Philadelphia, he was a lifelong area resident. Albert is survived by his three children Albert (Susan) Hafner of Lansdale, Lisa (Philip) McFadden of Jenkintown, and Karen (John) Dormann of Micketon NJ; grandfather to Emma, Valerie Hafner, Bailey, Philip (PJ) Sarah (Milos) Pavlovic, Heather and John Jr. Dormann. Two Great grandchildren Peyton McFadden and Lazar Pavlovic. Albert proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. Afterwards he joined the Philadelphia Police Department where he continued to serve his community. Al was part of the Philadelphia Highway Patrol team that was honored to escort John F Kennedy in his Presidential inauguration on Jan 20 1961...he cut his honeymoon short to go. He was also part of the highway patrol drill team and was the last officer to make the jump at the thrill show. He enjoyed boating and fishing. Albert obtained his pilot's license and owned his own airplane. Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation from 11 am to 12 pm on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at Kirk and Nice Suburban Chapel, 333 W. County Line Rd., Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 12 pm. Interment will take place after in Sunset Memorial Park, Huntingdon Valley, PA.
