Anthony H. Gruber, Sr., age 67, husband of Karen (Smyth) Gruber of Cape Coral, FL, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 in Abington.

Born on May 3, 1956 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Otto H. and Frances (Madden) Gruber.

He attended Mastbaum High School and served in the United States Marine Corps.

He was a manager for SEPTA for many years until his retirement.

He enjoyed golf, and loved all of the Philadelphia sports teams.

Spending time in the company of family and friends in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Florida he most enjoyed.

In addition to his wife, Karen, Anthony is survived by his daughter; Lauren Gruber, Stepchildren; Jacqueline Wenger and her husband Patrick, and Kathleen Magurn. Grandchildren; Eric, Patrick, and Harper Mae Wenger. Brothers; Thomas Gruber and his wife Gloria, Patrick Gruber and his wife Nancy, and Joseph Gruber and his wife Casey. Sister; Frances Gruber. Brother-in-law of Daniel Jellyman, and Barbara Gruber.

In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by his first wife; Caroline (Davis) Gruber, his son; Anthony Gruber, Jr. His sisters; Jean-ann Jellyman, and Carol Gruber. Brothers; Michael Gruber, and Otto Gruber.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel, 333 West County Line Rd.,Huntingdon Valley at 11:00 with Deacon Joseph Bernauer officiating. Burial will be private. His viewing will be held Monday morning from 9:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at www.jdrf.org would be appreciated.
