Obituary of Arthur DeAngelo

Born November 30, 1915 in Southwest Philadelphia, Art served in the Pennsylvania National Guard from 1938 to 1941 and completed active duty in the US Army overseas at the start of WWII. He served with the 85th Heavy Engineering Battalion serving in Libya, North Africa, Salerno, Italy north into France then finally into Germany. He was Honorably discharged on August 4, 1945 with a Grade of Technician 5th Class.

Preceded in death by his son, Michael, he leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 72 years, Rose Sacca DeAngelo, sons Art Jr. (Leslie), Frank Valerie), Anthony (Karen), grandchildren Jason (Sherri), Steven, Chrissie, Michael Jr., and Matthew, his great grandchildren, Marissa, Jason Michael and Chase. Also survived by his step-grandchildren, Colleen Sitzler, Kelly McClure (Bill), Robert Sitzler (Amy) and their children, Brandon (Stefani), Katelyn, Ryan, Morgen and Jake and a step-great-great grandchild, Lucas. He is also survived by his brother, Louis, of Collingswood, NJ and many nieces and nephews.

We would like to give special thanks to Hospice and House Calls of Holy Redeemer Hospital and April Beltz of Southern Health Services for their unwavering and merciful care.
