Barbara J. (Ellisor) George, age 84, beloved wife of the late Edward W. George, with whom she shared 49 years of marriage, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022 in Lumberton, New Jersey.
Born on September 13, 1937 in Columbia, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Max and Carrie (Thornton) Ellisor.
Throughout Barbara's life, she worked as a waitress, hotel maid, deli counter worker, and lastly a floral designer at a local supermarket.
She found time to enjoy reading, jigsaw and word puzzles, playing cards, but mostly watching TV with a cold beer, potato chips and having her dogs by her side.
Barbara is survived by her 2 children:
Deborah Giannone and her husband Ronald
Edward George and his wife Catherine
2 grandchildren:
Kristin Faella and her husband Steven
Stefanie Baker and her husband Justin
2 great grandchildren:
Samantha Faella and Mackenzie Baker
2 brothers:
Larry "Buddy" Ellisor and James Ellisor and his wife Hilda
Aunt of Donna Bowen as well as many other nieces and nephews
Barbara is also survived by her faithful companion "Prissy", her long hair Chihuahua, who has been by her side for over seven years and is still looking for her.
In addition to her beloved husband Edward, Barbara was preceded in death by her sisters:
Joan and her husband Gerald Bowen, Ruby and her husband Forrest Hunley, Evelyn "Boots" and her husband Joseph Spence.
Also preceded in death by her faithful companion "Pete," her Chihuahua, who never left her side for over 19 years.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her graveside service on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 1 PM with Rev Kristina Ahlman officiating at Sunset Memorial Park, 333 West County Line Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA. Procession to the family grave will form at 12:45 at Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel.
