Benson Myers, 87, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 25th, 2017.

Ben was born in Philadelphia on
March 11th, 1930, son of William and Sadie Myers, sister, Shirley (Myers) Pearlman. He grew up in Strawberry Mansion and was a graduate of Central High School. He worked in the family business, then went to Pierce Junior College, as well as the Peabody School of Music in Baltimore, MD. He was a concert violinist and a member of the United States Air Force Band.

On July 21st, 1956, Ben married Sandra Dorin, a union that lasted over 61 years. Ben and Sandy lived in Northeast Philadelphia and raised 2 children, Marc and Cheryl. Marc married Rose Conte; Cheryl married Harris Kaiser. Ben and Sandy are most proud of their 3 grandchildren, Alexa and Drew Kaiser, and Steven Myers.

Ben worked over 35 years in computer operations retiring in 1995. He was past Chancellor Commander and member for many years of the Knights of Pythias Steuben Lodge.

Ben was a wonderful father and husband, an incredible violinist, articulate, hard working and enjoyed planning family vacations. In 2005, Ben had a kidney transplant that was a major turning point in his life.

Ben and Sandy spent their winters in Florida and their summers at the Jersey Shore. Ben is loved by many and will be missed dearly. Forever in our heart!

There will be a Veterans Memorial Service held on Thursday, October 5th at 11:30am, precisely (guests should arrive by 11:15am)at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940, 215-504-5610 ( Upper Makefield Township ) A procession will form at the Adminisration Building .
