Carmelino "Mel" Pineda, age 54, passed suddenly on June 30th, 2025 due to complications related to heart disease.

Mel was born in Manila, Philippines to Juliet and the late Pedro Pineda. He graduated from University of Santo Tomas High School and went on to major in Medical Technologies at the Community College of Philadelphia. In 1997, Mel earned his Associate's Degree with honors.

In 1995, Mel met his wife Jesusa (Christy) while in college. Mel and Christy went on to have three children, Kristen, Lauren and Madison.

Mel was a long-time employee of Siemens Healthineers as a Lead Senior Analyst of the Dimension product line team. His work ethic and attention to detail made him a knowledgeable specialist, mentor, and key resource vital to the team's growth and success.

Mel was a diehard Philadelphia sports fan, tuning into games whenever possible on television and radio. When he wasn't enjoying sports, he loved music of all kinds but deeply admired powerful vocals. You could always find him and his family watching movies on Friday nights. He also loved traveling, especially to destination beaches.

Mel is survived by his loving wife Jesusa; his children, Kristen, Lauren and Madison; his brother, Guy; his mother Juliet Pineda and his other siblings Enrico Pineda, Eddie Pineda, Elsie Pineda, Ernest Pineda, Rodna Luna, Rene Pineda, Viven Pineda, Terri Pineda, and many nieces and nephews – all who will forever cherish his memory.

Mel is predeceased by his father Pedro.

Friends and family are invited to gather from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, July 8th at Kirk and Nice Funeral Home, 333 West County Line road, Huntingdon Valley, PA  19006 for Mel's viewing, and again at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 9th at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 8320 Brookside Rd, Elkins Park, PA 19027.  Mel's funeral mass will begin at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 9th.
