Obituary

Charles John Chamberlain, Jr. (Charlie) a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many passed away on November 6, 2021 at Jeanes Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He was 81 years old.

Charlie joined the United States Marine Corps in 1957 and ended his service in the USMC after ten years as a recruiter.

He was a very active member of the All Divisions Detachment Marine Corps League until health issues forced him to curtail his activities, but that never stopped him from participating in Toys of Tots each year. He was a life member of the Detachment and served as their Commandant from 2004 until 2008. Currently, he was serving as the MCL Department of Pennsylvania Benefits Chair and the Young Marine East Liaison. Charlie was also a life member of the Military Order of Devil Dogs where he held the degree of Pedigree and served as the Dog Robber for his MODD Pound.

Besides his Detachment and MODD affiliations, he was also on the staff of the United Young Marines Unit and was the proud recipient of the Chapel of the Four Chaplains Legion of Honor Award.

Charlie was a member of North & Southampton Reformed Church where he served on the counting committee.

Most of all Charlie enjoyed just spending time with his wife and family. He enjoyed country & western music, taking summer road trips throughout the United States, was an avid Flyers and Phillies fan, and enjoyed going to Iron Pigs games with his spots buddy wife.

Charlie will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Visitation for Charlie will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 10-11 am at North & Southampton Reformed Church, 1380 Bristol Road, Southampton, PA 18966.
