IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christopher W.
Aubel
April 28, 1952 – April 3, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved brother, friend, and kind soul, who departed this life on April 3, 2025, at the age of 72.
A graduate of Cheltenham High School, he dedicated his career to being a school bus driver, a role he embraced wholeheartedly because of his genuine love for children and the joy they brought to his days.
He was a passionate traveler, with adventures that took him to the vibrant landscapes of Nepal, India, and Morocco—journeys that reflected his open heart and curiosity about the world. A gifted musician and talented guitar player, he found joy in sharing music and was never far from a tune or a melody.
He was a lover of history, art, and good food, with a book always nearby and a crossword puzzle often in progress. An avid reader and devoted sports fan, he brought warmth, wisdom, and wit to every conversation.
He is survived by his loving sisters, Linda Keane, Johanna Aubel and Susan Bonner (Patrick), and his nieces and nephews, Heather Karr, Tommy Whitaker, Liam Bonner, and Ryan Bonner. Christopher is predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Frederick E. Aubel, III and his brother, Frederick IV. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Friends and family are invited to gather at 10:00 am at West Laurel Hill Chapel of Peace, 225 Belmont Ave, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004. A memorial service will take place at 11:30 before we escort Chris to his final resting place.
