IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David O.
Parsons
December 1, 1937 – February 4, 2021
David Oswald Parsons, aged 83, died in his home after a valiant battle with cancer on February 4, 2021.
Preceded in death by the love of his life, Kathryn (nee Doak), and his daughter Jennifer (nee Delp)
Osicky, David leaves behind beloved daughters Leslie (nee Delp) Jones, Megan (nee Parsons) Granoff,
Lori (nee Parsons) Griffin, and grandchildren Savannah Jones, Tristan Jones, Shane Delp, Tori Granoff,
Emma Griffin, and Zoe Griffin. David also leaves behind his brother, Roy Parsons and his wife Michelle,
and sons-in-law Vince Jones, Robert Osicky, Larry Granoff, and Lee Griffin.
David was born in Fulham, England and while educated in London, earned a Higher National Certificate
in Mechanical Engineering, with endorsements in Electrical Engineering, Production Engineering, and
Industrial Administration (BSME Equivalent). He was a Graduate Member of the Institute of Mechanical
Engineers, London, and Member ISPE.
While in the States, David gained over 40 years of experience in operations and project management,
which included major engineering and construction management assignments for the pharmaceutical,
fine chemicals, and food industries in the United States, Puerto Rico, Europe, and Asia. Beginning his
career as a Lead Engineer at Humphreys & Glasgow, Ltd, London, he then came to the US and worked
for Catalytic Construction Company and Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc. While at the latter, he became
Vice President in Business Development, responsible for the Merck, Wyeth, Astra Zeneca and
GlaxoSmithKline accounts, from 1997-2004. He then transitioned to, and subsequently retired from, the
position of Manager of the worldwide Rohm/Haas/Jacobs Alliance, responsible for the management and
supervision of regional managers throughout the US, Europe, and India.
David was a member of the Royal Air Force from 1959-1961. He was also a member of the Richmond-
Solomon's Lodge #3, from 2009 until his passing, acquiring the title Master Mason in January 2010.
David enjoyed attending meetings regularly and being a Trustee of Permanent Funds.
David was a superhero to his family; there was nothing he could not do! His daughters will always fondly
remember the weekends when Dave was continually creating projects around the house-and
completing them single-handedly! From hanging wallpaper, laying a roof, re-wiring the house, to
designing and building decks and fireplaces by himself, he was literally a jack-of-all-trades. In his free
time, he enjoyed working on a needlepoint, travelling the world with his dear Kathy, and entertaining
friends and family.
Not only was there nothing David couldn't do, there was nothing he wouldn't do for his family. David
was an affectionate and generous husband, father, and grandfather; anything anyone needed, David
was there to provide it. He will be forever remembered and cherished for his kind heart and loving ways.
David will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
Funeral services and a Celebration of Life are to be determined at this time.
