Obituary of David Richards
David Richards, age 65, on Jan. 28, 2007, of Trooper, PA, formerly of Roxborough, suddenly. Beloved husband of 41 years to M. Joyce Richards. Brother of Joseph MacDonald (Phyllis), Fred and John Richards (Margie), and the late Anna Marie Richards. Survived by nieces Linda Colarusso (John), Leslie Taylor, Diana MacDonald, nephews John Richards (Rebecca), Robert Richards (Sherri), Matthew Richards, Scott Taylor, Joseph MacDonald, and Daniel MacDonald (Lori). Also survived by many great nieces and nephews, and a brother in law Jack Taylor (Greta). He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Anne Richards, who resided with him for 25 years.
He retied after 32 years as Automotive Mechanic Supervisor, PA State Police, Belmont Barracks. David also served proudly for 2 years active duty in the US Army, 2nd Armored Division.
David loved gardening and lawn care. He was known to have the best lawn in Village Green. Along with his passion of the outdoors, he enjoyed walking everyday regardless of the weather.
After his retirement, he would do odd jobs so he could help people where he lived. He was known as someone who could fix anything. This being around people all stemmed from the love of his family and wanting to do for them. He also loved animals, especially his dog Woody.
He and his wife would take trips to look at trains, train stations, and classic cars. David also enjoyed music from the 1950s.
