April 18, 1941 – February 3, 2025
David Russell Walker, age 83, passed away peacefully with family by his side, on Monday, February 3rd, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Evelyn Jean (Lentz) Walker; his daughters, Melissa Stigler (Chris), Andrea Walters (Dave); his five grandchildren Mason, Arden, Evelyn, Blakely and Camryn.
David was the oldest of three children, survived by his sister Nancy Ross (predeceased Russ) and his brother James Walker (Sharyn); predeceased by his parents Samuel and Violet. He was born and raised in Philadelphia,PA. After graduating from Frankford High School, he earned an Associates Degree from University of Pennsylvania. On the beach in Ocean City NJ, he met the love of his life Jean, and they enjoyed spending many vacations at the jersey shore. David was a long-time resident of Richboro, PA, where he raised his family.
Upon retiring, David enjoyed spending time at one of his favorite places, Avalon, NJ. He loved time at the beach with his family and enjoyed listening to good music, watching old movies, cheering on various Philadelphia sports teams (especially the Eagles and Phillies) and sharing his love of all things sports trivia to all that knew him! He possessed a remarkable ability to solve complex mathematical equations in his head and memorize phone numbers, social security numbers and sports stats.
His determination and strength in navigating life's challenges was truly inspiring, and his unwavering positive outlook, no matter the obstacle, earned the admiration of all who knew him.David's life story is that of success, strength, love and most importantly family. His family, especially his children and grandchildren meant everything to him, and equally, he was their hero and he meant the world to them.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends and family are invited to gather at Kirk and Nice Funeral Home, 333 West County Line Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006 at 10:00 am on Wednesday February 12, 2025. A memorial service will begin at 11:00, prior to the interment ceremony at Sunset Memorial Park.
