Obituary

Doris M. Sams was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 4, 1946 and died February 3, 2021 in Sellersville, PA. She was the Daughter of Raymond and Ruth Annan of Maple Shade, N.J. Doris attended Lawton Elementary School, Harding High School, and Frankford High School.

Married to William Sams Sr. in 2001, Doris was a loving wife who believed her greatest accomplishment was her marriage to her husband Bill and their life together. Doris will be missed greatly by all her loved ones, especially her husband and best friend Bill.

Doris loved planting flowers and watching them grow. The same can be said for those she loved. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved being close to her grandchildren and spending time with family. Doris had a great smile and the best laugh ever. She was a good neighbor and loyal friend. Everyone who knew Doris Sams knew she loved baking our favorite pies and cakes, cooking, and especially loved cooking for her loved ones on the holidays.

She was a lover of all animals. Doris enjoyed feeding and watching her backyard birds, especially the hummingbirds. She loved dogs and especially bears, which she had a large collection of all types. She also enjoyed time at the neighbor's farm, including feeding the chickens.

Doris was preceded in death by her father Raymond Annan, mother Ruth Annan, and her sister Shirley Hawes. She is survived by her husband William 'Bill', daughter Melanie Sams and husband Gary, son Bill Sams Jr., son Kenneth Stein and wife Sherry, and daughter Jill Stein. Grandchildren: Kristin, Matthew, Jacob, Abigail, and Brian. Great grandchildren: Violet Marie, Anna May, and Myron Joseph 'Joey'. Doris also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Doris and Bill are members of the Silverdale Brethren in Christ Church. The family asks that any donations be made in lieu of flowers to the Silverdale Brethren in Christ Church 167 W Main St., Silverdale, PA 18962.
