Dorothea M. Bauer was born in Frankenstein, Schlesian, Germany, on January 2, 1940.. Dora passed away on May 11, 2016 and was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Bauer on June 11, 2014. Al and Dot were married on May 20, 1961. Mrs. Bauer is survived by her sons, David A. Bauer and his partner, Thomas E. Dudley and Fred Bauer and his wife Paula M. ( nee Smith ). Oma was very proud of her grandchildren,Lauren Ann, who graduated fron York College in 2014 and Kevin F. who graduated in 2016 from West Chester University.dora emigrated from Germany during 1952. She was a graduate of St. Peter's Grade School in Philadelphia.In 1957, Dorothea received a diploma from the Philadelphia School of Practical Nursing. Dora worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Philadelphia. Dot also worked at an auto glass factory in New Jersey. During 1973, Mrs. Bauer started working for William H. Rorer in Ft. Washington, PA . Dorothea retired from Rhone - Poulenc Rorer during 1997. Dorothea lived in the Olney section of Philadelphia for many years. During 1985, the Bauer Family moved to Feasterville, PA. Dot lived there the remainder of her life. Dora was an active parishoner of St. Christopher's Church in northeast Philadelphia. Dot's hobbies included traveling around the world, camping at Indian Acres of Chesapeake, MD, bowling, gardening, fleamarkets and her parish' s 50 + club.Dorothea is survived by her siblings, Martel Plum of Selfkant - Hoengen , Germany, Eva and Max Kokorsky of Feasterville, pA, Helmut and Annamarie Gregor of Trappe, PA and Christa Bauer of Southampton, PA. Dorchen was predeceased by her sister, Hildegard in 1951. Dorothy's Life Celebration will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016, 10 am at St. Christopher Roman Catholic Church, 13301 Proctor Rd., Philadelphia,PA 19116. This day would have been Al and Dot's 55th wedding anniversary . Interment is private.
