Obituary of Dorothy Bagley

Dorothy (Dee) Annetta Hirschfeld died at the age of 87 on April 2, 2013 at the Caring Heart Manor in Mt. Airy. She was the daughter of Henry Louis Hirschfeld of Suriname, the former Dutch Guiana and Dorothy Ethel Howell of Philadelphia. Dorothy graduated from Simon Gratz High School in 1943, and in 1948 she married Philip N. Bagley. They lived and raised their three boys in the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia. From 1963 to 1980 she worked as a seamstress for Barringer Knitting Mills. Dorothy took great pride in her family, especially her grandchildren, and often lavished family and friends with large holiday dinners.

She is survived by her husband Philip and her sons: Philip N. Bagley, Jr. (Christine); Ross A. Bagley (Sallyann); and Steven R. Bagley; five grandchildren: Christopher Bagley (Sheila), Jeffrey Bagley, Sarah Bagley, Taylor Bagley, and Richard Bagley; and three great-grand children: Dahlia, Bianca, and Aria.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 13, 11am at the Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel 333 County Line Rd.
