Dorothy Ruth Holland, age 99, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on July 9, 2024.

She was the beloved wife of her late husband, Robert Wilbur Holland. She is survived by her sons, Robert B. (Catherine) Holland of Newtown Square, PA and Richard M. (Lynne) Holland of Vero Beach, FL., her adored grandson, Richard J. (Lauren) Holland of Webster, NY and her cherished great grandchildren, Reese and Nolan.

Dorothy was born in Philadelphia to the late John Benson Lewis and Esther Irene Lewis. She is also survived by her sister, Ethel Metz (late George) of Souderton, PA and her brother, John Benson Lewis, II (Alexandra) of Leesburg, VA and was predeceased by her brother, Donald Lewis and sister-in-law Jackie of Lexington, SC.

Dorothy was devoted to her family and enjoyed a true zest for living life to the fullest. She will be fondly remembered as an accomplished world traveler, an avid boater with her husband, Bob on the Chesapeake Bay, a proud Navy veteran and recipient of the National Four Chaplains Foundation Award, an enthusiastic volunteer to numerous charitable organizations, a lover of everything outdoors and a dedicated Steward of her church, The Somerton United Methodist Church, where she was a member for over 75 years.

Family and friends are invited to her Celebration of Life Memorial Service to be held at 11 AM on Friday, August 16, 2024 at the Kirk and Nice Suburban Chapel.

Friends may call from 10 AM until services to share fond memories.

Interment will follow with military honors at Sunset Memorial Park.
