Dorothy I. Monti, former Vice President of the Bristol, PA based Bunting Bristol Transfer and Monti Truck Rental, died Friday, June 19, 2020 at home in Ambler, PA. She was 96.
Dot Monti, a native of Langhorne, PA, was the daughter of Harold and Phoebe (Praul) Hastings. She was a 1941 graduate of Langhorne High School. Upon graduation, she went to work for Rohm & Haas in Bristol, PA, as a Lab Technician. Dot met and married Bob Monti, the love of her life, in 1946 and resided in Bristol where they raised their three children. In 1960, Bob and Dot Monti purchased and expanded Bunting Bristol Transfer – a Class B common carrier that operated in the Delaware Valley and surrounding areas. The Monti's closed the business and retired to their Pocono home in 1986. In 2009, the Monti's moved to Meadowood Retirement Community in Lansdale, PA where Dot lived until her relocation to her daughter's house in Ambler, PA in 2019.
Mrs. Monti had been an active and long time member of Harriman United Methodist Church, Bristol, as well as Paupack United Methodist Church, Paupack, PA. She was a member of Women's Society for Christian Service (WSCS), a Sunday School teacher, a Cub Scout Den Mother (Cub Pack 7), a piano teacher, a high school cheer leader, and so much more.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert, and survived by her sons Bob (wife Pamela), Lewes, DE, and Mark, Oakland, CA, and daughter Deborah Monti, Ambler, PA, three grandchildren (Robert R. Monti, Megan Monti-Ksenzakovic, Margaret Daniels-Vargas) and five great grandchildren (Robert E., Mark C, Faith L, Samuel E. Monti, and Graham A. Ksenzakovic).
A private family service is planned at the Kirk & Nice Funeral Home, 333 West County Line Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park, Huntingdon Valley, PA will follow the service. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to any local Humane Society .
