Dorothy C. O'Connell, 82, of Abington, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas F. O'Connell for 30 years.
Dorothy was born in Philadelphia on August 31, 1940, to the late Dr. Ralph and Dorothy Hepler. She graduated from Frankford High School in 1959 and American Airlines Stewardess College in 1962; Dorothy was a long-time staff member of Abington Junior High School; working for many decades and only retiring in 2021. Dorothy was an avid reader and enjoyed spending her summers in Ocean City, NJ at the family's beach house and was a fixture on the 2 nd Street beach. She was the loving mother to three children, Dorothy, Thomas, and Matthew, and a proud grandmother to six grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her children Dorothy (Ethan), Thomas (Stacy) and Matthew (Melissa), her grandchildren Jennifer, Cody, Tyler, Erinn, Riley, Hunter, and one niece and eight nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Four Diamonds, a charity fighting childhood cancer, in Dorothy's memory.
