Dorothy Lundmark Snow of Southampton, PA passed away on October 5, 2018 at the age of 96. Dorothy was born in Akeley, Warren County, PA on May 14, 1922 to Edna (Crull) and Gunnard Lundmark. Dorothy graduated from Russell High School in 1940 as the top academic student in her class and captain of the basketball team.  She went on to Mt. Sinai School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio and received her RN degree in 1943.  In 1942 during WWII, she joined the American National Red Cross as a student reserve and took the oath of office as Ensign, Nurse Corps in 1943. She was assigned to US Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, VA in 1944 and took care of the injured from Normandy Beachhead and earned the WWII Victory Medal. Dorothy and a friend were the first female students for the Pre-Medical Technician Program at Franklin and Marshall College in 1946. She finished her internship at Temple University where she received her Medical Technologist ASCP degree. She worked as a nurse technician for Dr. Edward L. Bortz who was president of the AMA. Along with her husband she built their house in Bucks County, PA in 1953 and raised a family with 4 children where they resided for 64 years. They never had a mortgage. Dorothy was a nurse at the Woods School and Dr. William Noe's office in Langhorne as well as private duty. She then became the Athletic Nurse at William Tennant HS 1971-73, followed by private duty for a Bishop and an International Judge. Of course she was the neighborhood nurse of Bonnie Brae Drive!

She was first a member of the Wiltsie Church on Swede Hill, Russell and a longtime member of North and Southampton Reformed Church in Churchville.

She loved being a nurse, cooking (the best pie maker ever!), picking berries, gathering shells, gardening, sewing, playing the piano, and serving others. She especially enjoyed all of nature and loved her peaceful views of the forest in her backyard. She enjoyed visiting family, taking trips to her Lundmark Family Reunion (she was the genealogist), membership parades and events, and Sea Isle City, NJ. She loved reading history and the news.

She is survived by her daughters Linda (Jeff) Parkhouse of Oley, PA and Sherry (Kim) Simsby of Carlsbad, CA, granddaughters Kristen Parkhouse of Seattle, WA and Holly (Clayton) Smith of Fleetwood, PA, grandsons Ryan Jones and Kelin (Jazmin) Jones of San Diego and Colton Rousseau Snow of Wrightstown, PA, great-grandsons Jackson and Carter Smith, Kolston Jones, and Axl Jones, as well as many loving family and friends.
