Doyle McClain Cothren, age 69, of Warminster, PA, on August 11, 2016. Beloved husband of Georgann (nee Zauflik ). Loving father of Denise Young ( Braden ), and David Cothren. Father of Kimberly Arnold and brother of Judy Dupree, Becky Campbell, Wesley Cothren, Albert Cothren, Daniel Cothren and the late Kenneth Cothren and Larry Cothren. Son of the late Clyde and the late Margie Cothren. Doyle was born on October 31, 1946 in Huntsville, Alabama. He was enlisted in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969. He was stationed at Fort Meade in Maryland and served in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal W/60 Device, Meritorious Unit Citation, and Sharpshooter Badge Rifle M14. He met Georgann at Fort Dix and was married on February 15, 1969 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Doyle worked at SEPTA as a bus driver and superintendent. He raised two children, Denise and David. Doyle was a jack of all trades and had many hobbies in his life including breeding and showing dogs, bowling, gardening, breeding canaries and collecting coins.His favorite hobbies included billiards and fishing.Doyle was a devoted husband, exceptional father, cherished brother and family member, and caring friend. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, August 18, 2016, 10 am at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 14100 Worthington Road, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19116, where Doyle's memorial service will be held at 11 am. Interment will be private.
