Beloved wife of the late Philipp Boos and long-time companion of the late Edward Dobbins; Devoted mother to the late Raymond (Patricia) Boos, Cynthia (Greg) Bertagni, James (Patricia) Boos and Susan (Joseph) Penta, and loving grandmother to Cheryl (Christopher) Doughty, Ronald Cattalo, Brian (Kelly) Boos, Eddie (Hannah) Boos, Marlena (Matthew) Newton, Christian Boos, James Boos jr, Brenda (Joseph) Mauro, Anthony (Jill) Penta, Christopher (Monica) Penta.  Edith also was blessed to have had seventeen great-grandchildren, who found her humor delightful.

Edith was born to Raymond and Edith (nee Higginson) Kurtz on November 3rd, 1931, in Philadelphia, PA. An adventurous little girl who was the sparkle of her father's eye, she spent many summers at the family beach home in Cape May, New Jersey, where she also acquired her driving skills, made friends with the ducks and scoured the beach for shells and stones. She was a student at Frankford High School in Philadelphia.

While raising her four children, Edith took on the role of a working mom. She spent many years at Sears Roebuck & Company in the catalog sales department. In 1977, Edith moved her talents to Bell Atlantic, formally the Bell Telephone Company, and had a long successful career within the purchasing department before retiring.

Edith's interest was deeply focused on picking up bargains especially at thrift stores and bazaars, where she would find unusual items and present them to her children and grandchildren as funny trinkets. Socially, she loved to play cards with her card club, consisting of friends and family, and she was an active member of the Red Hat Society which focused on the pursuit of fun and friendship. On a personal level, Edith was an animal lover throughout her life. Dogs, cats, ducks and even rabbits, she always surrounded her home with loving pets.
