Obituary of Edward Perry
dward Paul Perry, a resident of Gloria Dei Farms, passed into Glory on Thursday, June 25,2015. He was 94 years old . Ed was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Samuel and Emma Perry ( Nichol ). He graduated from the Wharton School of Business and was a Certified Public Accountant for the U.S. Treasury Department as an income tax specialist , retiring in 1970 .He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps, serving as navigator flying B - 17 's in Europe during World War II. His plane was shot down and Ed and his crew were captured and held as POW's until liberated at the end of the war. Ed was the recipient of the Purple Heart as a result of being shot down. Ed was also a published author having written a book, "Recalling World War II - One Personal Experience, " chronicling his war - time experiences and based on letters he had written to his parents back in the U.S. Ed was the beloved husband of the late Ann W. Perry ( Allen ), Who Died in !983 . Ed is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Alma Perry ( Ungaro ) and his daughters, Joan Jerdan, Carol Jerdan ( Albert ), and Janice Trichtinger ( Martin ). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He enjoyed life, traveling, reading and dancing. His most treasured moments were spent with his family. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 , 10 am at the United Methodist Church of Huntingdon Valley, 3470 Second St. Pike, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006 , where his celebration of life will begin at 11 am . Interment will be private . In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed's name may be made to the above church
