IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward George
Ruch
March 19, 1933 – November 21, 2025
Edward Ruch of Bensalem, PA
Edward was born in Philadelphia to the Late Floyd M. and Julia (nee Swartz) Ruch.
Edward was one of four brothers, Harold, (Ed), Robert and Kenneth and a sister, Marilyn.
He spent his childhood in Philadelphia and graduated from Northeast High School in June 1950 where he followed an industrial course outline.
He was drafted into the United States Army in April 1953 and served active duty until April 1955 where he achieved the rank of sergeant. Following his discharge from active duty he served for 5 additional years of military reserve service.
Upon completion of his active service to our country, he married the love of his life, the late Barbara Jane Ruch (nee Kohl).
Ed was a master mechanic in the steel industry for forty years working for Graco Metal Products Company and Philmont Pressed Steel. There he met, trained and made many friends. Through his talents and abilities, he kept his place of employment operating.
Ed devoted his life to his family. He loved to teach all his many grand, great and great-great children.
Edward is reunited with his wife Barbara (Nee Kohl). Survived by his children Dorothy (Al), Ronald (Minde) and Janet (Bud). He is the loving grandfather to Tara, Gillian (Jim), William, Lauren (Will), Robert (Jenny) and Stephanie (Ed). Beloved Great Grandpa to Kelsey (Eddie), Jason (Emily), Madison, Katelyn, William, James, Declan and Jameson. The proud great GREAT grandfather to Mila Rae and Oliver. He is preceded in death by his daughter Karen and granddaughter Raechel.
His favorite past times and hobbies were spending time with his family where he would take on all sorts of projects, repairs and renovations. All it took was a phone call to him and he would appear at your door with his vast knowledge, confidence and bag of tools. Nothing was too difficult or intimidating for him.
He was an avid reader and encouraged his family to read and try EVERYTHING.
Ed adored dogs, especially Princess, who lived with him for 19 years followed by Sid, his faithful American Spitz and he was always available to dog sit for the many dogs owned by his family.
Following a short illness, Ed passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on November 21, 2025.
He will be greatly missed by everyone.
