IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elizabeth L.
Eberhardt
April 5, 1935 – October 31, 2022
Elizabeth L. Eberhardt (Ridge), 87 years of Upper Chichester, PA passed away peacefully on October 31, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Betty is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Daniel and their two daughters, Joan Moreno (Bobby) and Paula Hartey (Mike); three grandchildren, Daniel Mello, Michael and Sean Hartey and two step grandsons, Dante and Deo Moreno.
Betty was raised in the Crescentville section of Philadelphia where she lived with her parents John W. and Marie H. Ridge (Leidecker) and sister M. Joan Ridge of Long Beach Island, NJ before marrying Dan and moving a few blocks away to their home in the Lawncrest section of Philadelphia, and then later to Ocean City, NJ before moving back to Upper Chichester to be closer to family.
Betty was a working mother who always put her family's needs above her own. After retiring from the Naval Depot as an Accounting Supervisor in their printing office (NPPSO), Betty worked part-time at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital before finally retiring completely.
As her children and grandchildren grew, she had more time to enjoy gardening, shopping, sewing and quilting, trying out new recipes and especially reading. She was a voracious reader who never hesitated to read that next chapter or buy whatever new book a favorite author had just published...the dusting could wait!
Grandmom Betty enjoyed her casino trips and her Philadelphia sports teams, cheering on the Phillies and traveling to Disney World with her grandson Dan. She always looked forward to the many summer vacations spent in Ocean City with Sean and Michael and their friends.
Betty will be deeply missed by her family. She will be remembered for her quick wit, ability to keep life in perspective, strong faith and the abundance of love she gave to each of them. Her family is her legacy, and she was adored by each of them. She was a wonderful person who will never be forgotten.
