Eugene Stein, age 79, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, surrounded by love and care. His devoted daughter, Irina, was by his side during his final moments, ensuring he was comfortable and at peace.

Born on July 26, 1946, in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Ukraine (then part of the USSR), Eugene served as a respected school director in Zaporozhye and was deeply loved by his students. Teaching was not just his profession, but his lifelong passion — one that shaped countless young lives and brought him great pride.

Eugene was a devoted father and proud grandfather who dedicated his life to his family. He is survived by his loving daughter, Irina Tyutyunnikova, and her husband, Serg; and by his cherished grandchildren, Simonna and her husband, Mitchell, and Milan. He is also survived by his brothers, Anthony Stein (Shteinbakh) and his wife, Polina, and Alexander Stenbak (Shteinbakh) and his wife, Lyudmila,  with whom he shared an enduring bond of love, laughter, and mutual support.

After immigrating to the United States in 2002, Eugene built a life rooted in generosity and devotion to those he loved. Known for his sharp wit, sense of humor, and creativity, he left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He found joy in fishing, teaching, and crafting—often personalizing his many walking sticks and proudly decorating his home and belongings with his initials, "E.S."

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Asya and Samuel Shteinbakh, and by his beloved wife, Lyudmila, who passed away on August 12, 2021. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and resilience.

Eugene's memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel, followed by burial at Shalom Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Eugene's remarkable life.
