IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Francis L.
Kappes
January 23, 1931 – November 28, 2024
Francis L Kappes - age 93 - of Jamison PA, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 28, 2024. Beloved husband of the late Jacqueline Kappes (née Isaacman), father of Francis, Jr. and his fiancée, Pamela Hankins, Gregory and his wife, Dorothy, and the late Jeffrey. Grandfather of Gregory, Jr. and his wife, Dennise Sancho, Izabel and Jeffrey. He is predeceased by his brother, George, his sister, Blanche Dougherty (the late Frank), and his sister, Mildred Moyer (the late Harry) and his parents, George and Edna (née Strunk).
Frank is a proud veteran of the United States Navy aboard the USS Midway, CVB-41 during the Korean War. Upon his return, Frank was a union carpenter for many years before starting his own business, The Midway Corporation, located in Philadelphia. Upon his retirement, Frank enjoyed birdwatching and powerboating the waters of the C&D Canal and the Sassafras River in Maryland on his beloved yacht, the Grand Kuka Luka. After he sold his yacht, he later purchased a small fishing boat called the Little Kuka Luka and enjoyed deep sea fishing the waters off the coasts of Brigantine, Atlantic City, Ventnor, Margate, Longport and Ocean City. Let's just say Frank and his family did better going to The Crab Trap Restaurant in Somers Point and buying seafood, than they did catching fish.
Services will be held privately at Sunset Memorial Park
