Gayle Hamer, age 74, of Oceanside, New York, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022 in Oceanside.

Born on May 4, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Margaret (Allen) Hamer.

Gayle was raised in the Meadowbrook section of Abington township and was a graduate of Lower Moreland High School.

She received an Associates degree from Wesley College, received her undergraduate degree from Hofstra University, and her Master's in Education from Hofstra as well.

She taught at Hewlett Elementary School, Hewlett, New York for over 30 years.

Gayle enjoyed shopping, reading, and relaxing at the beach or by the pool.

Gayle is survived by her brother; Robert Hamer, her nephews; Robert Hamer Jr and his wife Allison, Scott Hamer and his wife Monica, and Tom Hamer and his wife Laura. Great aunt of Tyler, Cole, Kylie, Brynn, and Marley.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 12 noon followed by her funeral service at 1:00 PM with Rev. Kristina Ahlman officiating at Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel, 333 West County Line Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
