Obituary

George Thomas Broskey, gentleman, scholar and everybody's favorite, passed away on January 12, 2022. He was 88 years old. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 5, 1933 to Anthony and Alice Broskey, and grew up in a proud, hardworking family with his brothers John and Thomas. He spent much of his youth playing baseball in fields across Philadelphia (including Connie Mack Stadium). George attended Frankford High School, Class of 1951, and was a proud member of the 13 Club, Vice President of the Senior Class, and a star baseball player. After serving in the Army, he married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Agnes Wagner, and had three children together.
His education at the Charles Morris Price School of Journalism and Advertising, earnest work ethic, and unmatched ingenuity allowed for a robust career in advertising sales for over 35 years. He settled down with his family in Bucks County, PA: first in Bensalem and then in Churchville. He and Joyce eventually moved to Berwyn, PA where they created many happy family memories. He most recently resided in Sanatoga, PA.
George is predeceased by his parents Anthony and Alice, wife Joyce (married 50 years), and brothers John Broskey and Thomas Broskey.
George recently remarked on having a "good run in life." His "can do" attitude, positivity, keen insight into humanity, and perseverance are qualities that will continue on through multiple generations. George leaves to carry on his legacy: Children: Janice Pressede (Ken Shankman), Leslie Ann Fleming (Robert Taylor) and George A. Broskey (Joan). Grandchildren: Chris Jusits (Laura), Melissa Focht (Kevin), Michael Jusits (Jenna), Allyson Broskey, Dr. Michele Broskey (Leah Simko), Timothy Pressede (Christine Renninger), George Broskey (Connie Bowers), Emilee Broskey, Matthew Fleming; 15 Great Grandchildren; extended family near and far, and friends - new and old. He was very grateful for the companionship he shared with Elaine Reichert for the last many years.
George Thomas Broskey was an artist, philosopher, baseball player, gardener, prankster, devoted Phils fan, hardworking advertising salesman, friend, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, true family man and beloved Patriarch. To George, family was everything and we will all miss him tremendously. We know the "beat goes on," and we will find comfort in being able to enjoy a few of his favorite things such as watching a Phils game, drinking a Manhattan or a glass of Pouilly- Fuisse, or spending time in Avalon, NJ.
