January 4, 1937 – January 29, 2022
George C. Dick, 85, of Ann's Choice in Warminster passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 29, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Isabelle Dick (née Farrell) for almost 63 years. Born in Philadelphia , George was the son of the late Carl Dick and Mary (Gatto) Maratea . He was also predeceased by his siblings , Carl Dick and Dorothy Ricchezza.
George proudly served in the U nited S tates Air Force and was stationed in a mobile unit as an air traffic controller travelling to various locations throughout the United States as well as spending time in Japan. After his honorable discharge from the service, he worked at Nabisco and Whitman's chocolates before beginning his career in the technology field as a System s Analyst and Computer Consultant for the insurance industry .
In addition to his wife, Isabelle, George is survived by his loving and devoted children: Denise Krass ( Karl), George Dick (Debbie Yamashita) and Daniele Clibanoff. H e is also survived by his six grandchildren: Kyra, Andrew, Allison, Jennifer (Mark) , Kristen and Matthew. George was an avid sports fan and shared his love of basketball in his active role in the Catholic Youth Organization and at Jardel Playground in Northeast Philadelphia as a youth basketball coach. George particularly enjoyed watching college basketball and had an astounding memory of the backgrounds of all of the local players who went on to play professional sports. His day always started with a review of the Philadelphia Inquirer sports section. He was a dedicated fan of Villanova basketball and the Philadelphia Eagles.
In addition to his enthusiasm for sports, George was a voracious reader who volunteered at the Ann's Choice library. He was accomplished at completing difficult crossword puzzles and playing cards. He enjoyed l istening to jazz and playing chess.
George had an uncanny ability to navigate the local area without maps or directions, as he knew the Philadelphia area like the back of his hand. However, h e was also extreme ly proud to have traveled outside of the area where he visited every state in the union. He also had the pleasure of travelling overseas throughout Europe with his wife and friends .
Friends and Family are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on February 19, 2022, 11:00am-12:00pm at The Chapel at Ann's Choice Way, 30000 Ann's Choice Way, Warminster, PA 18974. Memorial Service private at the convenience of the family. Donations in George's memory may be made to an organization of one's choice.
