Obituary of George Jones
JONES, GEORGE W. JR., former Mr. Philadelphia and World War II Navy veteran, age 82 on May 25, 2008 of Blue Bell, PA. Beloved husband of the late Lois Jean (nee Eberly) Jones. Father of Kent (BettyAnn) Jones, Karen (Lou) Lamorte, Glenn Jones, Lori (Jerry) Wisla, and Lisa (Allen) Taylor. Also survived by 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a sister Eleanore (Woody) Chall. George grew up in Phila., PA, graduating from Frankford High School. George, a WWII veteran, served in the US Navy as an LST Boatswains Mate Second Class. He also served on the PA State Police before spending 35 years with Bell of PA as an investigator and eventually retiring in 1985.
