Obituary of George Kampf
George J. Kampf of Feasterville and Sea Isle City, N.J. died peacefully Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Holy Redeemer Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was 71. He fought a great battle with cancer for 12 years. He was a strong, loving man who could fix or build anything, a man good with his mind and his hands. George's son, Chris, said "When he had to fix anything, he had the best teacher." George loved the Jersey shore where he enjoyed boating, fishing and being with his family and friends. He also loved to travel the world. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years and best friend, Marie (DiRugeris) Kampf. He will be so deeply missed by his devoted children Gregory (Christel) and Christopher (Karen) and four grandchildren, Steven, Michael, Nicolette and Jessica, who he loved spending time with on land or water, Four brothers and one sister survive him, Raymond, Elsie (Gordon) Billy (Pat), Frankie (Nancy Lee) and Richard (Judy). He will also be missed by the DiRugeris family, Jim (Jennie) Merino (Mary) and Jimmy (Trudie). He is survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Our many thanks to the nurses on the second floor 2A (oncology) at Holy Redeemer for their kind, gentle and caring ways. They are angels on Earth.
