Obituary of George Pyffer
George Pyffer passed away on February 14, 2011 in Maple Shade, NJ. He was 96. George was a lifetime member of the NRA, a member of Oddfellows and had been a member and former officer of the Quaker City Yacht Club. A mummer in his younger years, he loved playing his banjo, but the most important thing in his life was his family. The beloved husband of the late Naomi, he is survived by his children Mildred Shortall (Ed), Ellen Wohrle, Wendy Shiffler (Bob), Margaret A. Hurst, Robert S. Pyffer (Mary), Debra James (Rick), Roger A. Pyffer (Dot) and George B. Pyffer (Renee), also by 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Elva and a stepson Bertram Schlecht. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday February 18 from 10 AM at the Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel, 333 County Line Road, Feasterville, PA (215) 354-0085 where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Moorestown Visiting Nurses and Hospice, 300 Harper Drive, Moorestown, NJ 08057.
