Gerald "Jerry" Santucci of Lansdale, PA died Wednesday, July 13 after a valiant six-year battle with cancer. He was 78.
Born in Philadelphia, Jerry lived in Langhorne for 30 years before moving to Lansdale in 1991. He is survived by Mary (Cullen), his loving wife of 57 years, as well as his daughters, Karen Scheuer (Robert) and Susan Borrajo (Rick), and grandchildren Danae Scheuer, Tyler Scheuer, R.J. Borrajo, Luke Borrajo, and Mark Borrajo. Jerry was extremely proud of his daughters and grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Joan Coscia (Gerald) and Linda Kennedy (Kevin), and brother Richard Widmeier (Sherry). He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis & Mildred Widmeier. He was also preceded in death by Anthony Santucci (Helen), who was not only his brother, but his mentor and best friend.
Jerry graduated from Northeast Catholic High School in 1956 and went on to complete investment courses at the Univ. of Chicago and the New York Institute of Finance.
He was the co-founder of Santucci Associates, Inc., a Specialty Food Brokerage in Feasterville, PA, which started in 1965, and was still involved up until three months ago. He was a member of the Investment Traders Assoc. of Phila., a two-time President of the National Assoc. of Specialty Food & Confection Brokers; a member of the National Specialty Food Assoc., and was elected to the Specialty Food Assoc. Hall of Fame in 2015.
Jerry was a private pilot, and loved motorcycles, travel, Florida, and his family. He had a special friendship with David Anderson and Jim McGilloway, associates in the Specialty Food business, who were like brothers to him.
He was a member of Mary Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church. He was both humbled and proud that the Chapel at Doylestown Hospital was named the Gerald & Mary Santucci Chapel in 2014. He often remarked how lucky he was to have found Mary, the love of his life, as well as a business he also loved, his many friends, and how good God was to him.
Jerry wanted to thank everyone for their love, concern, and prayers during his battle with cancer. The family will receive relatives and friends at Assumption B.V.M. Church, 1900 Meadowbrook Rd & Bristol Rd., Feasterville, PA, beginning at 9:30 am on Monday, July 18th, followed by a mass at 11 am. An internment service will follow at Sunset Memorial Park on County Line Road in Feasterville.
