Glenn A.
White
Sep 20, 1930 — Oct 18, 2026
With heavy hearts, we remember Glenn A. White, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 18, 2026, at the age of 87. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, to Walter White and Annabell Garrat, Glenn was our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. We will miss his stories, his humor, and the kindness he shared so freely.
So much of what we will cherish about Glenn lives in the simple, everyday things he loved. He was happiest outdoors—fishing, hunting, enjoying nature, or cutting his lawn—and he loved his trips to Woodlock with the senior group. He served in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic, and we will fondly remember his stories of taxiing planes in and out of the hangar during a fierce snowstorm. Music brought him joy; he played the harmonica and guitar in his younger years and was an enthusiastic ham radio operator. His rescued dogs, Abby and Paris, were dearly loved companions who held a special place in his heart. Glenn also put his creativity into woodworking, making holiday decorations that his children and grandchildren will treasure and pass down for years to come. Those handmade pieces will be especially precious reminders of him. Affectionately known as “Cookie Monster,” he rarely let a day pass without enjoying a cookie or muffin. It is little things like that which we will miss so much. Glenn had a wonderful sense of humor and was always trying to put a smile on someone’s face. He would talk to anyone who would listen, and when someone needed help, he was the first to lend a hand. His curiosity about conspiracy theories, aliens, and life’s unusual mysteries always gave him something to read about and discuss. He loved cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies and watching the Hallmark Channel. These familiar joys, his playful humor, and his generous heart are how we will remember him.
Glenn leaves behind a family who will carry his memory with love. He was the beloved husband of Marianna White (née Teifel) and the loving father of Steven, Denise, and James (Tracy). He was preceded in death by his children Mark, David, and Patricia. He was a cherished grandfather to Jessica; Tyler and his fiancée, Candance; Tristian; Sara; Joseph; Gianna; David and his wife, Dawn; Randy; Marian; Justin; Samantha; and Jamison and his wife, Stacy. He was also a loving great-grandfather to Kenzie, Antonio, Liliana, Welsey, Clarice, and Isabella. Glen will also be remembered by his sister Francis New and brother-in-law Richard (Phyllis) Teifel.
We will miss his voice, his stories, and the way he could make us smile. We will hold close to the memories he gave us and the pieces of his life that remain part of ours. Glenn, you were deeply loved, and you will be deeply missed.
