Obituary of Grace Fritz

At the age of 93, Grace Alberta Lotz Fritz passed away on March 8, 2013, at a placed she loved, Brant Beach, New Jersey. She was born in Philadelphia on November 28, 1919, the 2nd youngest of four children born to William F. Lotz, Sr. and Amelia Albright Lotz. After graduating from Olney High School, the Pierce School of Business, and Beaver College, Grace worked as a secretary at Pioneer Paper in Philadelphia. She met Harry W. Fritz, Jr., the love of her life, in Luther League. They married in 1944, and during the war, both Grace and Harry worked for the Army Air Corps in Amarillo, TX. Afterwards, she and Harry settled in Feasterville, PA, where they raised their three children. Grace had an incredible zest for life. She joined the Feasterville Community Church, played golf at the Lulu Temple Country club, was an avid gardener, sailed in the Barnegat Bay, and entertained her many friends with dinner parties. She and her family were early members of the Brant Beach Yacht Club (BBYC), and organized sailing programs and other outdoor activities for their own and other children. In 1981 she and her husband made Brant Beach, NJ, their permanent home. At the beach, Grace became a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, actively contributed to the BBYC, played golf with her friends at Ocean Acres Golf Club, and was known for her beautiful rose garden. From her porch, Grace, her family, and other members of the Brant Beach community often gathered to watch the spectacular sunsets over Barnegat Bay. Grace was the proud mother of Harry (Pete) W. Fritz, III; William (Bill) F. Fritz, and Susan Grace Fritz Johnston (deceased), a cherished grandmother to nine grandchildren, and a loving great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren. Grace left this world a better place than she found it, and now joins her parents, her beloved husband Harry, her daughter Susan, her sister Mildred, and her brothers Jack and Bill. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in the name of Grace Fritz to the Brant Beach Sailing Foundation, P. O. Box 402, Ship Bottom, NJ 08008. Relatives and friends are invited to call at 10:00am on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel, 333 West County Line Road, Feasterville, PA 19053. Services will be held at 11:00am. Services will be held at 11am. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park. A memorial celebration of Grace's life will be held at a later date in Brant Beach, NJ.
