"Hotrod" Harry R. Packer age 78 of Feasterville passed away Sunday January 17, 2015 at his residence. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia Jean (Fisher) Packer with whom he shared 40 years of marriage.
Born in Trevose, he was the son of the late Leroy Maxwell and Bessie Ella (Reeder) Packer. Harry was an honorably discharged veteran having served in the US Army during the Korean War. Harry was employed by Giles and Ransome as a mechanic for 38 years until his retirement. He was a former volunteer for the Trevose Fire Company. Some of Harry's hobbies were fixing tractors, lawnmowers and anything mechanical.
Harry was a simple hardworking man who always put family first.
He will be missed by his beloved cat "Buddy".
Harry is survived by his 3 sons: Donald K. Packer and his wife Judith of Feasterville, Edgar L. Packer and his wife Kim of Trevose and Russell R. Packer of Feasterville. His grandchildren: Holly Packer, Dana Polanco, Steven Amodei, Amanda Packer and Edgar Packer, Jr. He was the brother in law of Kay Williams and her husband James and uncle to several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Lorraine Karbowsky.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday January 21, 2015 from 10 AM and to his funeral service at 11 AM officiated by Pastor Herb Phillips at Kirk and Nice Suburban Chapel 333 County Line Rd., Feasterville 215-354-0085. Interment with military honors in Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville. In lieu of flowers, a donation to American Diabetes Association 150 Monument Rd., Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd., PA 19004 would be appreciated.
