Obituary

Helen H. Blain of Holiday, Florida, formerly of Doylestown, passed away at the age of 92.  Born in Parkland, PA, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Teresa (Engelhardt) Hahn and William Louis Hahn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and the love of her life of 58 years, Edwin (Eddy) M. Blain; sisters Marguerite Pletcher and Dorothy McLean; and grandson Brett Christopher Harrington.

She is survived by daughters Dawn L. Harrington (Joseph) and Nancy L. Lopez (Gary), grandchildren Alexander Harrington, Athena Jackson, Cory Lopez, Melissa Melendez, Seth Lopez, great-grandchildren Lexi Mehren, Zachary Baxter, Jordan Melendez, Brandon Melendez, Haileigh Harrington, Owen Harrington, Kaley Melendez, Bella Jackson, Emily Shuey, and great-great-granddaughter Scarlette Mehren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Helen was born at home in Parkland, PA and was raised in the Philly suburb of Oakford.  She attended Siles Elementary School and graduated from Lower Moreland High School in 1944. She met and married Eddy Blain in 1947.  Throughout the first years of marriage they lived in Lancaster, PA, Millersville, PA, and Marshallton, DE and Levittown, PA. They moved to Doylestown in 1965 where they resided for over 40 years. For the last twelve years Helen lived with daughter Dawn and son-in-law Joe, first in Lansdale, PA, then in Florida. Helen's work career included Leeds and Northrup, RCA, Hamilton Watch, Bucks County Health Department and Montgomery County Intermediate Unit.

Helen loved country music, traveling with her husband, Nashville, auto races, flowers, camping in their trailer near Strausburg, Doylestown, the beach, the Neshaminy Creek where she swam and canoed as a child, her childhood dog Flash, her cat Cheddar, but most of all, family and friends. She was always your biggest fan and cheerleader and would support you in any way she could. She was quick witted, strong and yet gentle and was an inspiration to many.  Her smile was contagious and would light up a room on the darkest of days.  She will be forever and always be loved and missed by the many lives she touched.

Mom – It's your turn to dance with the angels and Dad – always and forever.
