Herta H. Kowalski, age 93, of the Morrell Park Section of Philadelphia, passed away, Friday, April 12, 2024 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Herta is survived by her sister-in-laws, Theresa Varacallo, and Eleanor Zach, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Herta was the devoted wife of the late Edward Kowalski for close to 60 years whom she met in Germany during the war.  They married and returned to the United States where she worked as a hairdresser before becoming a long time employee of  Whitman's Candies.  Upon retirement Herta enjoyed her summers at Fortescue along the Delaware Bay, crocheting and spending time with family and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents Kurt and Louise (Baam) Hock, who both passed while Herta was a child.

Friends and family are invited to gather at Kirk and Nice Suburban Chapel, 333 West County Line Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA  19006, on Friday, April 26th, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.  A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m.before we escort Herta to her final resting place at Sunset Memorial Park.
