Obituary of James Dunn

James Dunn, Sr. passed away peacefully after a brief illness on January 26, 2010, at the age of 84. He was the beloved husband of Margaret Jane Dunn (nee Hall), loving father of James Dunn, Jr. (Patricia) and Glenn J. Dunn (Sharon), grandfather of 9, great grandfather of 10 (and "one on the way"). He is also survived by his brother, John F. Dunn, Jr. (Shirley) and many loving brothers and sisters-in-law. Jim was a former professional soccer player having played with the Philadelphia Nationals and the Uhrik Truckers. He also played with the German Hungarian Club Soccer Team. Jim was elected into the Philadelphia Old Timers Hall of Fame. In the late 1980s, he coached the Northeast and Roslyn Boy's Club Soccer Teams. Jim was a World War II Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps, 370th AAF Base Unit. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, February 1, 2010, after 10:00 AM at the Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel, 333 County Line Road, Feasterville, PA 19053 (on the grounds of Sunset Memorial Park) where a funeral service will be held at ll:30 AM. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory may be made to the National Soccer Hall of Fame 18 Stadium Circle, Onoenta, NY 13820.
