James Clinton Whitehead Jr., age 48, passed away Friday August 30, 2019 at Dorn VA in Columbia, SC. He was born on September 22, 1970 in Philadelphia, PA to James Whitehead Sr. and Denise (Taylor) Rhodes.
James enlisted in the United States Army in May, 1991 and retired in January, 2012. He began his military career as a Dental Assistant. After that, progressed to Hygienist then NCOIC of various Dental Clinics while gaining many accomplishments along the way. While serving his country, James also enjoyed cooking and barbequing for his family. Before joining the Army, he enjoyed attending Goju Karate classes and earned a black belt. After retiring from the Army, he enjoyed discussing politics and listening to talk radio.
He is survived by his four children James Erik (Bre Konstandin), Ariell Querida, Yedelsa Emily and Jackson Nathaniel; wife Hilda Whitehead; two granddaughters Graciella and Josieanna Whitehead; mother Denise Rhodes; sister Nicola Whitehead; brother Victor Rhodes; Grandmother Emily Powell and many other family members and friends.
Burial and memorial services will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA on September 19, 2019 at 11:30 am with James Greggs officiating.
