Jean Anetha King passed away peacefully on March 18, 2022 surrounded by loved ones.

Jean was born on November 13, 1930 to Aminnie Ming and Eustace Cozier in Georgetown, Guyana.

She worked as a nurse at the Medical Arts and Davis Memorial hospitals for many years. She was truly passionate about caring for others and cared for many adults as well as several children including her surrogate grandson, Nicholas Braithwaite.

She married Joseph Collinsworth King in 1956. Jean and Colin went on to have two children Trevor and Allison.

Jean retired after working several years as a nurse and had the opportunity to migrate to the USA. She lived with her son Trevor and daughter-in-law Fleurette for over 20 years in New Jersey and later Pennsylvania. She enjoyed baking, sewing, and crocheting and had a passionate love for reading. She was also a prolific writer and filled numerous journals with her thoughts.

Jean was predeceased by her parents Aminnie Ming and Eustace Cozier, her husband Colin King, siblings Aileen Bowen, Robert and Cyril Ming, nephew and nieces Sebastian, Lisa and Peggy Ming. She is survived by her children Trevor and Allison King, siblings Rosemary Gill, Anna Clementson, William Cozier and sister-in-law Veronica, grandchildren, Trevayne and Chantal King, Dawson, Savannah and Cameron Thompson. Also, nieces and nephews Colleen, Roger, Andre, Peter and Sean Bowen, Saxon Katwaroo, Denise and Lee Gill, Dacia Barnwell, Patrick, Aubrey, René and Christine Ming and many great nephews and nieces.
