Obituary of Jean Mercado

Jean L. Mercado (nee Hartkorn) passed away on April 1, 2013 at Neshaminy Manor Nursing Facility where she was a resident for 3 years. She was 84 years old on March 1st. Jean is survived by her husband of 57 years, Paul E. Mercado of Doylestown, Pa, two daughters, Linda E. Senf (Wolfgang) and Carmen Ann Pomante, five grandchildren, Christopher W. Senf (Coleen) of Jamison, PA, Tessa L. Senf of Doylestown, PA, David James Pomante, Luke John Pomante and Rebecca Mary Pomante all of Perkasie, PA. Two great-grandchildren, Christopher M. Senf and his brother Aidan G. Senf of Jamison, PA. Also surviving is one brother, Henry Hartkorn (Anna) of Hatboro, PA and two sisters, Doris D. Bloom (Paul) of Bloomsburg, PA and Margaret Harley of Loma Linda, California. Also many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Arlene Helen Comber, and nine brothers, Joseph, Robert, Jacob, Richard, Thomas, Francis, Peter, William and Charles Hartkorn.

After Jean's retirement in 1992, she enjoyed her flower beds and the planting of many flowers and also she enjoyed crewel, embroidery of pillowcases, scarves, and especially her bed covers. She loved visiting with her extended family, attending many family parties and functions too numerous to count.

Paul and Jean travelled across the country and to Florida several times and also flew to Puerto Rico to Paul's family in Maraquez, P.R. until Jean was no longer able to travel. She was lovingly taken care of by Paul and her daughters until her admission into Neshaminy Manor Nursing Facility in 2010.

Funeral arrangements will be private at the request of the family.
