Joan Betty, 85, peacefully in her home on Sunday, June 16. Joan Betty Braddock was born on November 30, 1927 to William and Sabina Faulkner in Warrington , England. World War II started in 1941 ans changed Joan's life in ways she could not imagine. John T. Braddock of Philadelphia enlisted in the Army Air Corps and was sent to Burtonwood Air Force Base . At the base Sabina provided meals for John and William provided transportation in a bicycle. As a war bride, Joan waited the necessary time to join John in Philadelphia. They first lived in John's parents home on Somerset St. in Kensington and later Disston St. in Mayfair. John was born in 1947 and Wayne was born in 1952. Joan's parents moved to the U.S. in 1952 to be with their daughter and help with their sons. Sabina helped at the house , while William worked various jobs. The family moved to Larkspur Street in Somerton where Joan's Parents, John T. and eventually Joan died, most of them in their sleep. Wayne married Daria in 1975 and Jocelyn was born in 1882 and Marissa in 1985. John married Linda in Connecticut in 1988 and a grandson John "JJ" was born in 1991. Joan enjoyed the time spent with all of her grandchildren and her grandpets. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 9 to 11 am at the Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel, 333 County Line Rd., Feasterville ,Pa 19053 ( 215 - 354 - 0085 ), where her funeral service will begin at 11 am. Entombment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Donations may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, on 1946 Welsh Rd. , Philadelphia ,PA 19115
