Obituary of Joan DiBello

Joan Lillian (nee Hoopes ) , 84 of Warminster, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 11, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. On a daily basis throughout her final several months, Joan was visited and surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Joan was born in Philadelphia and resided there for 78 years before moving to Warminster in 2009 to live at Christ's Home retirement community with her loving husband Joseph, to whom she was married for 47 years.

Joan will be remembered and cherished as a loving mother, wife and friend to many. Everyone who really came to know her, loved her dearly and will certainly miss her greatly. her talents in the kitchen will be sorely missed by all who were fortunate enough to partake in the delicious meals she created almost daily for her family and friends during most of her life.

With her husband Joseph, Joan became a born again follower of Jesus Christ on February 15, 1975. Together they read the Bible and prayed daily as they became closer followers of the Lord. They went on to become bold witnesses and ministers for Christ throughout much of their marriage, fearlessly preaching the Gospel to many of their family and friends and fellowshipping with other believers in the Lord.

Joan always thanked God for all the many brothers and sisters in Christ she had that now she leaves behind, but with whom she will be reunited with one day in heaven. Joan is in heaven now because she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior, Lord and Master, and did it with all her heart. She was filled with and sealed with the Holy Spirit, not through her good works or from being religious, but by faith in the Word of God and the fact that Jesus Christ, the Son of God came down from heaven to become a sacrifice to pay our sin debt in full with His precious blood on Calvary's cross. There, He redeemed us and became the Savior of the world forever.

On that cross, Jesus proclaimed "It is finished ", thus eliminating the need for further sacrifices to God for man's sins. Some of Joan's favorite verses from the Bible were John 3:3, "In reply Jesus declared, I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again", and John 3:6 - 7, "Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, You Must be born again", and John 14:6, " Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me".Also Romans 8:9, " and if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ", and Titus 3:5 - 6, " He saved us , not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior" and Ephesians 2:8 - 9, " For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast ".

Beside her husband, Joan is survived by her five children, Frank (Phyllis ), Joyce (Wayne), Joseph, Jr.(Michele), Michael (Janet), and Anthony (Lisa), her brother, Harry Hoopes (Marie), many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She also leaves behind many friends and extended family, including her brother and sister-in-law, Nick and Joan DiBello, and their large loving family.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday evening, June 17, 2015 from 7 to 8:30 pm and again on Thursday from 12 to 1 pm at the Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel, 333 County Line Rd., Feasterville, PA 19053 (215 - 354 - 0085), where a celebration of life will begin at 1 pm precisely. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
