IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joan Louise
Honnen
November 12, 1938 – March 12, 2025
Joan Louise Honnen passed away peacefully with her loving brother and sister-in-law by her side on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, PA. following a lengthy series of illnesses and hospitalizations.
Joan is survived by her devoted brother and caregiver Kenneth Honnen and loving sister-in-law Milagros Honnen (who she embraced as the sister she never had), neices Jennifer Rosado, Michelle Rosado, nephew Brian Rosado, many sisters and brothers in-law, "sister friend" of 50+ years Joan Denshuick and family, and cousins William Honnen and Ronald Honnen.
Joan is predeceased by parents Kenneth J. and Helen L. Honnen, grandparents John and Bessie Honnen, grandmother Helen L. Tyrrell and grandfather Grover C. Ewing, uncle Bill Honnen, aunt Eileen Honnen, cousin Robert Honnen, and her much loved cat companion of more than 20 years, Spencer.
After graduating from Olney High School, Philadelphia in 1954, Joan embarked on a 50 year career in finance and banking including AT&T. She ended her career at Canon Financial Services Global where she oversaw the leasing of motion picture production equipment to Steven Speilberg and other film and television studios worldwide.
A lifelong resident of Bensalem Township, Joan's selflessness, kindness, unrelenting strength, generosity, heart full of love and strong spirit touched and inspired the lives of all who knew her. Always putting others before herself and an unwavering belief in God brought happiness and optimism to everyone she met. A lover of cats and all God's creations she was foremost devoted to her beloved parents and brother.
Before and during her early years retired she devoted herself as caregiver to her mother. During her later retirement she loved spending time with family and friends, caring for animals, gardening, shopping, and embracing her creativity by decorating with her imaginative and special touches. She also enjoyed reading and watching tv, always with her loving Spencer at her side.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of family and friends with her legacy of love of people and animals, compassion, endurance, strength, and generosity continuing to guide those she leaves behind.
Friends and family are invited to gather at Saint Stephen's Lutheran Church, 65 E. Street Rd., Feasterville-Trevose, PA 19053, on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 10:00 AM. Joan's funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM before we escort her to her final resting place at Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations to either the Bridge Animal Clinic – Bensalem, PA, American Heart Association, American Lung Association, American Cancer Society, or St. Jude Chidren's Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
