John W. Goetter, age 87, of Levittown, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Philadelphia to the late John Frank and Irene May Goetter, John was a 1956 graduate of Neshaminy High School. He spent his entire career in the telecommunications industry, working with Bell Telephone, AT&T, and Verizon. A respected professional, John was honored with induction into the Telephone Pioneers of America.

Deeply rooted in the Levittown community, John was one of the founding members of the Levittown Soccer Club. He also had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed camping—often sharing that joy through his involvement with the Boy Scouts.

Family was at the center of John's life. He treasured annual family trips to Cape May and loved traveling the world.  Through his work with People to People, John visited Austria and then several other countries with the Roslyn Soccer Club, and marked his 25th wedding anniversary with a memorable trip to Hawaii. More than anything, John cherished time spent with his family—whether near or far, everyday moments or special occasions.

John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his children: Karen and the late Mark Arnold; Jeffrey and Julie Goetter; and Kristen and the late Anthony Volpe III. He was the proud grandfather of Ryan and Brittni Arnold, Ashley Goetter, Courtney and David Millili, Emma Volpe, and London Volpe, and beloved great-grandfather of Brantley Arnold.  He is also survived by his brother,  Stephen (Joyce) Goetter and brother-in-law John (Laura) Moss, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him dearly.  John is predeceased by his beloved late wife of 64 years, Janet (nee Moss).

Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Kirk and Nice Suburban Chapel, 333 West County Line Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon, after which John will be laid to rest in the mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Park.
