Obituary

John T. "Jack" Hartley, 91, a resident of Feasterville for 67 years, was called home on October 16 surrounded by family.

Jack was born and raised in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, where he learned the meat cutting trade at his family's market. He ran Hartley's Meat Market in Germantown for many years, then sold the store and went to work for Genuardi's as a meat cutter.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  Jack cherished time with his family and friends.  Jack enjoyed making stained glass, picture framing, and especially loved watching and feeding the myriad songbirds and squirrels that visited his many feeders.

Jack is predeceased by his parents, Joseph & Philomena Hartley (Schilling), his childhood sweetheart and wife of almost 59 years, Barbara (Johnson) and his 10 siblings; he is survived by his loving daughters, Suzanne McCormick (John), and Kristina Hartley; grandchildren John T. Hartley II, and Dara Laughlin; two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
