John F. Willard, age 66, passed away on September 9, 2023 in Crystal River, Florida.  Born on Christmas eve, December 24, 1956 in Philadelphia, John was the son of the late Thomas and Theresa (Smith) Willard.

He was a graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School, Philadelphia.  John married Carolyn Wilwert in 1982 for 18 years and they had a son Andrew.  In addition to Carolyn and his son Andrew, John is survived by his sisters: Maureen Hoffman, Terry Smith, and Debbie Willard, and his brother: Tom Willard.

John loved to laugh, joke, and make people smile for this was a big part of his personality.  John was a big time Philly sports enthusiast, and was the Team Manager for all of son Andrew's High School hockey teams.  He loved fishing (sort of)......he was really hit or miss with fishing, especially on "Flounder Pounder" trips!   John was a true kid at heart as he loved amusement rides; especially roller coasters.  He also enjoyed trips to the mountains, and was the world's worst vegetable eater!  John was a Supervisor for Bell Atlantic/Verizon until his retirement. He relocated to Florida in 2008, where he lived until his passing.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend John's celebration of life beginning with his visitation on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 5PM followed by his funeral service at 6 PM with Pastor David Carey officiating at Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel, 333 West County Line Rd. Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Burial will be private.
