IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joleen "Joey"
Stanshine
September 20, 1944 – July 12, 2025
Joleen "Joey" Stanshine (aka Jojo): The Life of Every Party
1944 – 2024
With a glass of wine in hand and laughter always ready, Joey Stanshine left this world the way she lived in it — surrounded by love, laughter, and her two daughters by her side. Joey passed away peacefully at home on July 12, 2024, at the age of 80.
Born and raised in Quarryville, Lancaster County, Joey eventually made her way to the Philadelphia area and called Huntingdon Valley home for most of her life. But her true home was anywhere people were laughing, dancing, or clinking glasses.
Joey had a childlike sparkle in her eyes and could find something funny in just about anything. Her joy was contagious, her laugh unmistakable, and her energy unforgettable. She was the loudest in the room (in the best way), the first to say cheers, and the last to leave the dance floor.
An endlessly creative soul, Joey loved designing homes, making crafts, painting, and creating beauty in every space she touched. She found peace in nature, loved long walks, and cherished any excuse for a happy hour.
She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen Stanshine, mom to Betsy Markle and Holly Fuenfstueck, and sister to Susie Anderson and Bobbi Smith. She was "Jojo" to all her grandkids — the fun grandma who played like a kid and loved them beyond measure. Her best friend, Nancy Bohren, was by her side— from the wild, fun times to the tender, tough ones, right up until the very end.
One of her happiest places was Stone Harbor, NJ, where her father built a family home when she was a kid. It remains a cherished gathering spot for the whole family — a place forever filled with her spirit.
