Obituary

Joseph Courduff was born May 8, 1934 in Philadelphia to parents, the late Joseph and Madeline (née Dittenhofer) Courduff. He grew up with siblings the late Mary Elgert and John Courduff. He is survived by brother Thomas Courduff.

Joseph was the Husband of the late Elaine (Kaufmann) Courduff and Stepfather to the late Wendy Feldman. He is survived by his stepdaughter, Donna (Feldman) Raichle, and stepson, Keith Feldman. Joseph was a beloved grandfather and uncle to many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Joseph was a fun, loving, and supportive presence in his family's lives.

Joe graduated from Lower Moreland High School, where he starred on the baseball team as a lettered Varsity Pitcher. Joseph continued his education by studying agronomy at Penn State University.  During his life's work, he provided over 50 years of dedicated service to Philmont Country Club, starting as a greenskeeper and rising over time to Club Superintendent. He was a member of  the Pennsylvania Golf Course Superintendents Association where he shared his extensive knowledge with others.

While working at Philmont, Joseph was drafted into the U. S. Army, and received highly classified Security Clearances.  After completion of his active duty service, he was placed in the reserve, where he was recalled into active service again during the Berlin Crisis.

Throughout his life, Joe was an avid fisherman even receiving two Miami Met Fishing Tournament Citations. Joe always found time for trips with family and friends where he would spend his days golfing, fishing, and walking the beach. He is a huge fan of all Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Eagles.
